in youngs experiment two coherent sources placed 0.90mm apart and fringes are observed one metre away. if it produces the second dark fringe at a distance of 1mm from the central fringe , the wavelenght of monochromatic light used would be options a. 60*10-4cm b. 10*10-4cm c. 10*10-5cm d. 6*10-5cm

Dear student

Distance of nth dark fringe from central fringe

Xn = (2n -1)\lambdaD/2d

Hence X2 = 3 *\lambda D/2d

1 * 10^-3 = 3 * \lambda * 1/2 * 0.9 * 10^-3

\lambda = 6 * 10^-5 cm

Hence option D is correct.
