A wave is propagating along x axis. The displacement of the particles of the medium in z direction at t = 0 is given by z=exp[-(x+2)^2] "x" is in metres. At t=1s, the same disturbance is given by z=exp [-(2-x)^2]. Find magnitude and direction of wave propagation velocity.

the answer itself is 4m/s in +x direction.....
since at t = 1s , a -ve sign is in front of x , thats why it travels in +ve direction...
