To obtain the period (T) of swing, substitute 17.3 m for the length of the swing segment (L) and 9.81 m/s2 for the acceleration due to gravity (g) in the equation T = 2π √L/g,
T = 2π √L/g
= 2(3.14) √(17.3 m)/(9.81 m/s2)
= 8.34 s
From the above observation we conclude that, the period (T) of swing would be 8.34 s.
