in case of sound wave, wave motion can either be represented in trems of displacement of particles or in terms of excess pressure. therefore y(x,t) = Asin(kx-wt) represents displacement of oscillating particles. and p(x,t)=BkAcos(kx-wt) dividing1st and 2nd obtain relation. and plz approve my answer if right.
