Interference:

Overlaping of two waves is called Interference (or) The phenomenon happends at two or more waves passes through same region at the same time is called Interference .

Interference is 2 types :

1)Constructive Interference

2)Destructive interference

1)Constructive Interference :

When crust of one wave Interference with crust of another wave (or) trough of one wave Interference with trough of another wave is called Constructive Interference .

In Constructive Interference resultant displacement is maximum (y1+y2) .

2)Destructive interference :

When crust of one wave Interference with trough of another wave (or) When trough of one wave Interference with crust of another wave is called Destructive interference .

In Destuctive Interference resultant displacement is minimum (y1-y2)

interference is a phenomenon in which two waves superimpose to form a resultant wave of greater or lower amplitude.

Interference usually refers to the interaction of waves that are correlated or coherent with each other, either because they come from the same source or because they have the same or nearly the same frequency.

Interference effects can be observed with all types of waves, for example, light, radio, acoustic, and surface water waves.
