Dear student,

\vec{a}\times \vec{j}is perpendicular to\vec{j}. Hence their dot product will be zero.

The product reduces to(\vec{a}\times \vec{j}).(-3\hat{k})=-3\vec{k}.(\vec{a}\times \vec{j})=-3(\vec{a}.\vec{i})=-12
