if x+iy=3/2+cosa+isina, then find the value of x^2+y^2

x+iy= (3/2 + cosa) + isina – (1)
So,
x-iy= (3/2 + cosa) - isina      -(2)
Then multiply equation (1) and (2)
x2 + y2 = (¼)*(13 +  12cosa).
