a+4 = 2a + 2 
a = 2 
same as 
3b = b+2 
b =1 
a – 2b = 2-2 =0

by equating the corresponding elements of the given matrices, we have the following eqns:
a+4= 2a+2,
3b= b+2
8=8
and – 6= a – 8b
from these eqns, clearly a= 2 and b= 1
so a – 2b= 0
