let three vectors are P, Q & R.
now for collinearity, PQ=PR or PQ=QR as they will be in same direction
Now If PQ=QR
(a-b)− (a+b)= (a+\mub)−(a−b)
−2b= (\mu+1)b
comparing coefficients of b,
\mu+1= −2
\mu= −3
Note- if we select PQ=PR or any other equation we will get another value of  \mu.
So \mu=−3 is one solution.
