We know from the question that the strengths are in an indistinguishable heading from the sides of the equilateral triangle, so they are at 60 degrees to each other. 
By applying the resultant vector equation 
c^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2abcosC where C is the point between the vectors. 
The greatness of resultant vector would be 3 ^ ½
