the resultant of the two vectors will lie along the bisctor

resultant R=sqr root(A^2+A^2+2.A.Acos?)

=sqr root(A^2+A^2+2A^2cos?)

=sqr root(2A^2+2A^2cos?)

=sqr root(2A^2[1+cos?])

=A*sqr root(2[2cos^?/2])

=A*2cos?/2

2Acos?/2. therefore option (a) is correct
