Dear student
 
if sec phi – tan phi = x
then sec phi + tan phi = 1/x
 
hence 2 tan phi =1/x – x
 
now
 
if cosec phi + cot phi = y
then cosec phi – cot phi = 1/y
 
hence 2 cotphi = y – 1/y
 
now you can find relation between x and y
