cos224 =  – cos(224-180)=  – cos44
so, we gotta find 
 – (cos44+cos26)
= – 2cos35cos9 which is approx.  – 1.618
note that we cannot find a closed form of this expression, because although it is possible to find the value of cos 9 in closed form, yet cos35 cannot be determined.
