If we divide whole equation by $\sqrt$(a2 + b2)
We get
a/$\sqrt$(a2 + b2) sin x + b/$\sqrt$(a2 + b2) cos x = 1

This is a form of sin(x+$\theta$) = 1
Where
Cos$\theta$ = a/$\sqrt$(a2 + b2)
Sin$\theta$ = b/$\sqrt$(a2 + b2)
so
Tan $\LARGE \theta$ = b/a
