Electrolytes are of two types on the basis of degree of dissociaton:-
1.Strong Electrolyte:- Such electrolytes dissociate completely when ionised.
2.Weak Electrolyte:- They undergo little dissociation and there will be equilibrium between the ionised and unionised part.
Conductivity measurements of electrolytes helps to predict the nature of electrolytes,as a weak electrolyte solution has a much smaller conductivity than a strong-electrolyte solution of equal concentration.Thus by observing the conductivity values one can identify the electrolyte to be strong or weak.
