I think you should go with iit rather any nit beacuse of the reputation. But if you want any specific branch which is not available at any old iit, then i would like you to go to any good NIT. Or else, prepare well for BITSAT if you want some reputed institute like IIT.
U will get any reasonable course in iit and a course of your choice in nit.So its upto ur interest regarding any particular course.I think u should go by ur interest and not by others.All the best.
