Regarding the infrastructure of BIT Mesra , then it is sufficiently developed .

Central Facilities

central Computer Aided Design Laboratory (CAD-LAB)

The CAD Laboratory is a central facility of the institute where all users - undergraduate and postgraduate students, research scholars and faculty members - can work with sophisticated design and analysis software. They can learn to use the latest software and carry out their research work.

Central Computing Facilities (CCF)

The Central Computing Facility (CCF) forms an extremely important component of the Institute’s infrastructure, providing a wide spectrum of services to the students as well as faculty and staff involved in research and other academic activities. The maintenance and up keep of the CCF is done by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering; however the CCF is utilized by students and staff from all departments of the Institute. A special place of pride in the CCF is occupied by the PARAM 10000 Supercomputer, which was gifted to the Institute by C-DAC, in recognition of the Institute’s commitment towards quality higher education and research. The PARAM supports a large number of projects that require parallel processing and multi processor capabilities.

Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF)

The Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) of the Institute was established in 2006 under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP), funded by the World Bank and Government of Jharkhand, with an objective to provide sophisticated instrumental facilities for advanced research to faculty and students of the Institute, as well as Institutions in the State of Jharkhand. The Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) is equipped with state of the art sophisticated instruments to carry out spectral measurements, structure determination, surface behavior, molecular analysis, electrical and electronic circuit preparation, structural analysis, mechanical strength analysis, aerodynamic modeling, morphological studies, chemical and electrochemical analysis, etc.

Central Library

The Central Library of the Institute, established in 1955, strives to be a model library and evolve as a leading technical university library, contributing its support to the building of an internationally top ranked academic and research driven institution by establishing a knowledge hub. The collection of the Central Library comprises hybrid (print & electronic) resources in the fields of science and technology. The collection includes 10130 online journals, 100 print journals, 112470 books, 2503 CDs, 58 audiocassettes and 4079 project reports.

International Relations

Over the years, BIT Mesra has established various international ventures and tie-ups. It has collaborative arrangements with Universities in the USA, UK, Canada, France, Italy, Denmark, Netherlands, Spain & China.

  • It is an active member of the EAGER - NetWiC Project of ASIA LINK programme of European Commission for establishing a world class academic network of Higher education in the rapidly growing field of Wireless and Mobile Communication between the five partner Universities. An International Centre for Wireless and Mobile Communication has been created in Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering in close co-operation with Aalborg University (Denmark), Delft University of Technology (Netherlands), Università di Roma Tor Vergata (Italy), and Institut Teknologi, Bandung (Indonesia). A double-degree M.E. programme in Software Defined Radio (SDR) has been jointly developed by the centre and the Centre for Teleinfrastructure, Aalborg University, Denmark.
  • BIT Mesra has an agreement with Purdue University, USA for Student exchange program
  • BIT Mesra has an agreement with University of Leeds in UK adding an option of getting dual degrees, one from BIT (B.E.) and other from the University of Leeds (MEng) for students of Electrical, Electronic and Production Engineering of BIT Mesra.
  • BIT Mesra is one of the two Asian Educational Partners of University of New Brunswick, Saint John of Canada in the field of Business Administration.
  • BIT Mesra is one of the 5 elite Indian Universities which are partners in French "n+i" network. "n+i" network is a consortium of 70 French Engineering postgraduate schools (French: Grandes Ecoles d’Ingénieurs françaises) who made the choice to mutualised their actions in the field of international cooperation.

thanx for ur early reply and one more thing is branch sliding allowed within d institute or not and where does it stand in comparison to nits like trichy warangal n surathkal

Hi

All these colleges are almost at par coz as per the 2007 census, their rankings were lyk: Although fr 2009 , NIT Trichi is above NIT Warangal, but ido not think that bit mesra participated in the census this year. Their placements are also almost the same.
