Why do heavy drapies over the windows help keep a home cool in the summer , as well as warm in the winter ?

 It's just because that it that heavy that has restricted the floor feet into the house and you feel different from the surrounding if it is cold outside then the cold air will not grow inside your house and that keeps your house and saying in the summer hot air does not showing side does your room stays cold
