when you press two blocks of ice together the pressure lowers the melting point of the ice so a liquid interface forms. When the pressure is reduced the water freezes and the two blocks join

Dear student
When they are pressed together little heat is generated due to pressure and of friction, which just melts the outer layers , when that is melted friction decreases and due to the low temp of both the ice cube the water just refreezes

The melting point of ice is lowered on increasing the pressureWhen two blocks of ice are pressed against each other, the pressure applied on the blocks of ice increases and the melting point increases. Thus the two blocks of ice fuse together.
