Question:Ripples are being genrated by a vibrator on the surface of water.The distance between two concecutive crests is 3 cm.Ripples cover a distance of 25.2 cm in 1.2 s.Calculate the wavelength,wave velocity and frequency of the genrated waves?

The distance between two concecutive crests is called the wavelength.

Wavelength = 3cm

Wave velocity = 25.2 cm / 1.2 s = 21 cm/s

Frequency = wave velocity / wavelength = 21/3 = 7 Hz
