Bulk modulus, B = -P / (Δv/v)
Where p is the pressure, v is the volume and Δv is the change in volume
We have, Density,ρ = mass, m / volume,v
Therefore, Δρ = -m Δv / v2 = - (m/v) (Δv/v)
So, (Δv/v) = (Δρ/ρ)
Therefore, B = -P / (Δρ/ρ)
Or, Δρ = (p/B) ρ
Plugging the given values,
Δρ = (2*108 / 8*109) * 11.4 = 0.285 g/cc
Density of lead at pressure, p = 2*108 Nm-2 = ρ + Δρ = 11.4 + 0.285 = 11.685 g/cc (≈11.7 g/cc)
