pressure cooker works on the principle of cooking at a pressure higher than the atmospheric pressure. Due to this, water boils at a temperature higher than 100 deg C, which leads to faster cookingPressure seals maintain the temperature. The whistle provided regulates the pressure by relieving the extra pressure.
