i) Isothermal process: As temperature is constant, internal energy does not change. ii) Adiabatic process: During adiabatic expansion internal energy decreases and adiabatic compression internal energy increases.

in an isothermal process internal energy does not change because there is a temperature is constant.in an adiabatic process internal energy is changes because there is no exchange of heat and energy.
