# how much heat should be transferred to a 100g block of aluminum(900 J per kg per K) to increase its temperature by 10 degree celcius

HELLO THERE!

Mass of the block (m) = 100g = 0.1 kg

Specific heat capacity (C) of the block = 900 J kg-1K-1

Rise in Temperature = 10oC = 10K (since size of the Celcius and Kelvin scale is same, the temperature rise/drop in both scales is same! So, you need not add 273 to this).

Now, Heat required H = m C $\dpi{80} \triangle$T
= 0.1 x 900 x 10
= 900 Joule
