A glass tube, which is closed at one end is completely submerged in a vesselcontaining mercury with the open end inside the mercury such that air column of length 10 cm is trapped inside the tube above the mercury. Find the height the upper end of the tube should be raised above the level of mercury in the vessel so that the level of mercury in the vessel and the tube coincide.
Area of cross section of the tube = 1 sq.cm
