  1. Because it forms the crystal lattice which can extends in all directions.
  2. Isotrophics are those which has all the properties same in all the respective directions
  3. Anistropics are those which has not all the properties in same direcn. exapme is refractive index, viscosity etc. Thery are hence generlly termed as Anistropic.
