NH4Cl is a soluble ionic compound, so when added to water it undergoes the following reaction. NH4Cl(s) → NH4. +(aq) + Cl-(aq)

Why can`t Ammonia be the one . With water it too can form NH4+ ? Please give a reason for this . And what relates to .1 M solution of NH4+ .

NH3 under water is a weak base i.e. NH4OH and will not ionise completely but will ionise partially
