In 1865 John Alescander Newland an english chemist gave the law of octaves . According to him when the elements are arranged in the increasing order of aromic weight , the properties of every eighth elements are similar to the first one.
Newland called this relation has the law of octaves due to similarity with the musical scale.

This relationship is just like every eight note resembles the first in octaves of the music.
