Hello Student,
Antibiotics are of two types.
1. Broad Spectrum Antibiotics:
Antibiotics effective against procaryotes that kill or inhibit a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria not only one family are said to bebroad spectrum.

2. Narrow Spectrum Antibiotics:Antibiotic effective mainly againstspecific families of bacteriaGram-positiveorGram-negative bacteria, they arenarrow spectrum.
Cilindamycin is an example of this type.
