Hello Student
A pure semiconductor is called intrinsic semiconductor. These semiconductors are free from any kind of dopping. An intrinsic semiconductor, also called as pure semiconductor to which no impurities have been added,In an intrinsic semiconductor the number of electrons(n) in the conduction band is equal to the number of holes(p)in the valence band and is represented withn=p.
Eg:Mercury cadmium telluride

If these semiconductors are doped with 13 group elements then formation of p type semiconductor takes place.

While elements of 15 group gives n type semiconductors.
