Hi Student
Electron affinity is the property of an isolated atom, on the basis of which it attracts an electron.
It can be defined as the amount of energy released when an electron is added to the outermost orbit of a gaseous isolated atom. Electron affinity is numerically equal to the ionization energy but the difference is that the later one is the amount of energy required to remove the electron.
