The correct order of strength of H–bond in the following compound :- (1) H 2 O > H 2 O 2 > HF > H 2 S (2) HF > H 2 O 2 > H 2 O > H 2 S (3) HF > H 2 O > H 2 S > H 2 O 2 (4) HF > H 2 O > H 2 O 2 > H 2 S

The correct order of strength of H–bond in the following compound :-
(1) H2O > H2O2 > HF > H2S
(2) HF > H2O2 > H2O > H2S
(3) HF > H2O > H2S > H2O2
(4) HF > H2O > H2O2 > H2S

Dear Student,

F is the most electronegative element, therefore, hydrogen bonding is the strongest in HF.
Now amongst H2O, H2O2 and H2S, H2S has the weakest hydrogen bonding and  S is less electronegative and bigger in size than O.
In H2O2 two O are present while in H2O only one, so strength of hydrogen bond is stronger in H2O2
Hence, the order is
HF > H2O2 > H2O > H2S
