For complete neutralisation we apply,
N1V1 (HA) = N2V2(NaOH)
50*N = 100 *0.25
N = 0.5
Now,
HA + NaOH ---> NaA + H2O
100*0.5 100*0.25 0
(excess) (limiting)
number of corresponding milliequivalent are :-
50 25 25 25
it is a question of buffer so,
pH = pKa + log[salt]/[acid]
5 = pKa + log[25]/[25] = pKa + log1 = pKa {log1=0}
5=pKa
