A solution is made up of a solute and a solvent.Solute is the substance which is present in lesser amount and which is to be dissolved, while solvent is that part which is more in quanity and in which solute is dissolving.
A supersaturated solution is the solution which contains more solute than should be possible at a particular temperature. For ex-a supersaturated solution of sugar could be formed by heating the solution to the boiling point of water, which is 100 degC.When all the sugar has dissolved, the solution is allowed to cool.At any temperature lower than 100 degC,the solution is considered supersaturated. This is because the solution has more solute dissolved in the solvent than normally dissolves at the lower temperature. Thus supersaturated solution is that where the concentration of solute is more than that of solvent.
