In case you`re trying to calculate the equivalent weight of a compound X which undergoes disproportionation then you`ll have to consider the n-factor of both the parts of the reaction but you cannot add them Consider the oxidation reaction from the whole reaction and calculate the n-factor Similarly consider the redox reaction and calculate the n-factor Now use the formula-Equivalent weight of compound X=Molecular weight of X|n-factor during oxidation+Molecular weight of X|n-factor during reduction
