If in an evacuated vessel of volume 1cubic dm initially 8 moles of AB3(g) are taken and at equilibrium two moles of A2(g) are present then find out Kc: 2AB3(g)(irreversible reaction) A2(g)+3B2(g)

Dear student ,

The rxn given is :

                                 2 AB3(g)       ---------->        A2(g)  +    3  B2(g)

                       t=0    8 moles                               –                  –

                t= eqbm   8 – x                                x/2                 3x/2

Given :  At eqbm.  2 moles of A2 are present  ;   x/2= 2  => x=4

                       Kc  =   [AB3]2  /   [A2] [ B2]3

Volume of vessel = 1 cubic dm = 1 L  ;   conc. = moles / vol  ;  So, conc = moles /1

So,                  Kc =  ( 4)2  /  (2) * (6)3

                        K=  0.037  mol-2 L2
