Ores – The mineral from which the metal can be economically and conveniently extracted is called as an ore.For ex- copper pyrites(CuFeS2) is an ore of copper,similarly bauxite is an aluminium ore.
Mineral – The naturally occuring chemical substance in which metals occur in the earth’s crust are called minerals.For ex- Al occurs in the earth’s crust in two forms,bauxite and clay.These are the minerals of Al.
Metals occurs in more than one form and the type of mineral from which the metal can be extracted is decided on the basis of profitability.Extraction of Al form clay is not cheap and easy method like in case with bauxite ore ,so Al is extracted form bauxite and not from clay.Thus we can say that--
All the ores are minerals but all the minerals are not ores.
Metal– Metals are the electropositive elements that form positive ions called as cations on loosing of electrons so as to achieve the nearest noble gas configuration.For ex- Na,Ca,K all are metals.They all form cations.Metals are found on the left side of periodic table.
