for magnesium configuration is 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 and quantum number set is -
n = an integer from 1 to infinity.
L = an integer from 0 to n-1
mL = an integer from -L to +L
ms = + or - 1/2
set is -{3, 0, 0, -1/2}
for sodium Na -n = 1 l= 0 m=0 s = +/- 1/2
