A property of the system is called intensive (intrinsic) if it is independent of the mass of the system under consideration. For a system no matter how much mass you consider, it's temperature remains the same.
But in case of heat, it is dependent on mass under consideration. Hence it is called Extensive (extrinsic) property.
P.S : Enthalpy, Entropy, Internal Energy are extensive properties where as Specific Entropy, Specific Enthalpy, Specific IE are considered to be intrinsic properties.
