Evaporation is a surface phenomena. If the surface area is increased, the rate of evaporation increases. Here only surface is involved in the process of evaporation.
Molecules of water present on the surface of liquid are bonded weakly as compared to inner molecules and when temperature increases hydrogen bonding between water molecules breaks. This phenomena increases with increase in surface area.
