on the basis of structure
(1)linear polymer-these are formed of long straight chain
ex-pvc,high density polythene

(2)branched chain polymer
linear chain polymer with some branches
ex-low density polythene,amylopectin

(3)cross linked or network polymer
many cross linked that gives rise to a network linked structure
ex-bakelite,melmac
