As the compound contains 0.5% of sulphur by mass, the molecular mass of the molecule is twice the total mass of sulphur.
No. of sulphur atoms=2
mass of sulphur=64
so molecular mass=64x2=128

Given : 0.5% S is present in compound And 2 atoms of S are present in 1 moleculeSol:Mass of 2 atoms present in 1 molecule of compound is 2 × 32= 64So(Mass of S ÷ Mass of compound )×100=0.5Let mass of compound be xSo x = (mass of S ×1000)÷0.5=12800
