Change in entropy is negative for :- 1) Br 2 (l) -----> Br 2 (g) 2) C + H 2 O(g) -------> CO(g) + H 2 (g) 3) M 2 (g, 10 atm) ------> M 2 ( g, 1 atm) 4) Fe (at 400K) ------> Fe(at 300 K) Correct ans is 4th option Please ans asap with reason for each option.

Change in entropy is negative for :-
1) Br2 (l) -----> Br2(g)
2) C + H2O(g) -------> CO(g) + H2(g)
3) M2(g, 10 atm) ------> M2( g, 1 atm)
4) Fe (at 400K) ------> Fe(at 300 K)

Correct ans is 4th option
Please ans asap with reason for each option.

Dear student
In first option liquid changes to gas so entropy increases.
In second option 2 gas molecules are formed so entropy increases
In third option pressure decreses so entropy increases.
In 4th option temp decreses, so movement of molecules decreses, so entropy decreases, hence it is negative.
