Alkyl Halide is converted into an alcohol by:-
The halogen atom in alkyl halides may be replaced by -OH on heating with NaOH thus converting an alkyl halide back to an alcohol.
RCH2Cl + OH – -------->RCH2OH + Cl-
The following reaction can be interconverted through the use of PCl5 ,POCl3 where slcohol is converted to alkyl halide
