A solution of 5 gm of haemoglobin(molecular weight = 64000) in 100 cc of solution shows a temperature raise of 0.031 degree for complete oxygenation. each mole of haemoglobin binds 4 mole of oxygen. if the heat capacity of the solution is 4.18 k-1 cm-3, calculate delta H per gm mole of oxygen bond.

for 1 cc 4.18 then for 100 cc 418
no. of mole of Hb , 5/64000=0.07milli moles
C deltaT = -418 x 0.031 =12.95  ( delta H = -cdelta T0
this is for 0.07milli moles the for 1 mole -166025.28J
as on mole of hb reacts with 4 mole as given then for one mole of oxygen divide it by 4 we get – 41.5 KJ
