A reduction in atomic size with increase in atomic number is a characteristic of element of f – block elements. Due tolanthanide contraction.

This happens in f-block elements. It is because in lanthanide, f-elements do not effectively screen the valence electrons from increased nuclear charge. Thus size decreases.😊
