what do u mean by wave function

Dear Rupen,

Term wave function is generally used in quantum mechanics. This wave fuctions have no physical meaning. But they contain a lot of information about the particle for which it is written such as momenta by using -i h/2π ð/ðx operator or function on it and the square of its amplitude probability as the fuction of position. Thus by substuting the various vaues of x we can get the probability of finding that particle at that position.
