If the mth and nth wavelength is taken as the wavelength of light released when the electron jumps from mth level to 1^st level, and nth level to the 1^st level, respectively.
On using the Rydberg formula, one can get the $\frac{\lambda m}{\lambda n} = \frac{1-(1/n^{2})}{1-(1/m^{2})}$
