If atoms are packed in a matrix(square) such that there are 2 hollow and 2 solid spherical atoms such that each atoms contributes 1/4 of it to the unit cell.Find the Effective number of atoms if radius of all atoms is same.

Hi student,
I am not able to interprate your line “hollow and 2 solid spherical atoms”.
But as all the atoms are arranged in matrix form, they will result in formation of siple cubic lattice with all the atoms present at corners.
So, the effective number of atoms would be (8)(1/8) = 1
