a brittle solid at room temperature and being a poor thermal conductor implies it being a non metal...so poor elctrical conductivity follows it,and non metals generally exhibit oxidising properties...but they have very poor ability to form positive ions..(here i mention about the non metal solids that are brittle) so the answer is option 1.
